The winning Participatory Budget project is…Rock painting!
We have ordered all the supplies and when they are delivered, the whole school will paint rocks. Then we will place all the rocks outside around our school to make P.S.159 extra beautiful!
But don’t be sad that your vote didn’t win because we will also be having a Family Fun Night later this year to tie dye shirts! In addition, Mr. DiDio and the school will be purchasing more recess equipment!
We hear you! Your voice matters! Happy Civics For All week!
-The Civics For All Team & Student Council
Show your School Spirit by wearing our school T-Shirt or PS 159’s colors of Blue & White.
You can purchase a School Spirit T-Shirt from the PTA along with a variety of other School Spirit Active Wear. Also, our Physical Education Teachers have shirts and apparel for sale that help support our Physical Education Program.
**If you ordered school apparel from Ms. Marcus and did not receive it due to school closing, you will receive your order when school resumes.**
I am so excited to join the P.S.159 community! My initial weeks have been a whirlwind of warm greetings and uplifting messages! You have my heartfelt gratitude. I have been an educator for the past 15 years, with the last 10 years spent at BELL Academy in Bayside, Queens as the Special Education Coordinator. I am a Bi-lingual Chinese American and a mother of elementary school aged children. Having grown up in Queens myself, I deeply appreciate the significance of the values cherished by this community, and I am committed to upholding these principles. Bayside truly holds a special place in my heart.
As I become part of the P.S. 159 family, a school with an impeccable reputation and outstanding leadership by exceptional school leaders, along with the most amazing teachers, staff and parents, I am overwhelmed with honor as I join this esteemed team. My utmost priority is to contribute in ways that will add more value to this already amazing school. I am excited to work alongside Principal DiDio who possesses unwavering dedication to education and a genuine passion for success of both students and staff.
